i) M.Sc in Economics from the Calcutta University in 1991 obtaining a First Class (Fourth   Position)

ii)  Qualified National Eligibility Test for Lecturership (N.E.T.) conducted by the University Grants Commission, 1992

iii) Submitted Ph.D thesis at the University of Calcutta. Title of the Thesis: An Investigation into the Quality of Technical Education in India;  Research Supervisor: Dr. Rabindranath Mukhopadhyay, Department of Economics, University of Calcutta

xiii) Chaired a session on 'Politics of Higher Education'at CESI International Conference 2015, held at Azim Premji University, Bangalore, December 14-16, 2015.
xiv) Discussed a paper entitled "Innovation, Research and Development and Patent Scenario in India: An Inter-state analysis" at the Centenary Research Scholar Workshop (International) on Growth and Regional Disparities: Theory and Empirics, organised by the Department of Economics, University of Calcutta on July 8 and 9, 2014.
xv) Was invited to join the official launch of 'European Union-India Social Sciences and Humanities Platform (EqUIP)' organised by the Euraxess Connect in New Delhi, October 14, 2014.
xvi)Worked as a reviewer of abstracts for an forthcoming International Conference to be held in Tirupati,Andhra Pradesh in November 2016.

xvii)  Has own blog to help aspirants prepare for the Civil Services Examination conducted by the UPSC. Title of the Blog: 'IAS Study Room' at iasstudymat.blogspot.in which is quite popular among  IAS aspirants (nearly 40000 visitors so far).

iii) Worked as the Technology Development Officer at the Heramba Chandra College: roles include developing a new student-friendly website, suggesting measures to install latest  equipments such as CCTV in the Campus, office and library automation, installation of LAN, Wifi, sound and projection systems in the classes,

iv) Worked as a Member, Organising Committee of CESI Annual International Conference,  organized by the Department of Economics, University of Calcutta, in association with Indian Statistical Institute, Institute for Development Studies Kolkata and Pratichi Institute.

v) Working as Member of a Team constituted by The District Magistrate, North 24 Parganas for writing a District Gazetteer for the district of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal. Have been entrusted to write a Chapter on Population for the Gazetteer (forthcoming).
